It's time to look forward to your involvement with the KMHS Soccer program. Below is information that should be beneficial to you as you decide your part in volunteering with the soccer program. Tryout and Fundraising information can be found at the bottom of the information as well.
Please contact any of the board members or current co-chairs listed on the website if you have any questions regarding the position descriptions below. We have many current chair or board members with players graduating this year, so we need YOU to step up and volunteer for these positions this year in order to learn the ropes while they are still here. As always, we welcome your new ideas and involvement in the program!
Each Team will need a Team Rep who acts as a liaison between the coach, Executive Board and team parents as needed. Ensure team parents are fully integrated into KMHS Soccer by providing access to volunteer opportunities and information.
Specific Team Rep responsibilities include
1. Organizing your 30-40 team parents so that volunteer needs are covered:
a. sending concession assignment reminders to ensure the concession stand is staffed with parents for home matches. (Slots are pre-assigned and handed out at Kick-Off Night)
b. a meals coordinator, ensuring meals are available for each of your team’s home and away matches (as directed by the Coach)
c. a ball runner coordinator, 2 for each of your team’s home matches
D. a roster coordinator, providing player parents with rosters at beginning of season
2. Solicit nominations for 2010 KMHS Booster Club Board members which will be elected in April.
3. Forward any and all input and ideas regarding KMHS Soccer operations to the KMHS Booster Club Executive Board as appropriate.
4. Provide other help and team communications as may be required
Concessions (2) Co-Chairs needed to work with outgoing Chairperson
(2) Opener/ Closer/Shoppers per team
Tasked with opening or closing the stand, shopping for needed items to ensure concessions is open & available for home games, the booth is staffed, and monies properly accounted for. Co-Chairs will oversee the proper stocking of the stand and work with the LaCrosse program to coordinate the necessary items are available for the soccer matches.
Hospitality and Special Events Team
This group coordinates the Kick-Off Night, Senior Night and End of the Season Banquet.
Grounds Team – (Co-Chair to work with outgoing Grounds Team Chair)
Lines the fields (Practice and game fields), general equipment maintenance as needed .
Match Day Team - immediate team members needed!
Tasked with creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for each home match. This committee will drive the creation of various traditions which KMHS varsity home matches will gradually become known for. Involves soliciting activities and participants (KMHS marching band drumline, cheerleaders, local soccer clubs, and others), coordination of match-related activities.
Annual Program Development
Tasked with producing the annual program (content, design, and printing) and promotion of games to increase attendance. Immediate needs are for annual program development.
Kickoff Night POT LUCK DINNER is Friday, February 12th
This event will include each team’s parent/player/coach meeting at which time you will be signing up for the volunteer positions listed above, receiving your concessions assignments, and have your questions answered by the coach and board members.
Additionally, Spirit Wear will be available for purchase and pre-ordering of custom items. We look forward to a successful 2010 season!
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES!!
** Papa John's at the Georgia Dome Dates **
The Soccer booster club is partnering with the Band to work the Papa John's outlets at the Georgia Dome for the dates listed below. Please keep in mind that the total amount earned toward your player's dues is based upon the total Papa John's profit from each event worked. The totals are generally not available until 2-3 weeks after the event. The average is generally $60 per person, however, it all depends on the profits! Some may be lower, others higher.
February 13: Nuclear Cowboyz Freestyle Motocross--We will probably leave KMHS around 2:00 and return sometime between 10:00 and midnight. You should be at least 15 to work this event.
February 27: Super Bowl of Motocross--We will probably leave KMHS around 2:00 and return sometime between 10:00 and midnight. You should be at least 15 to work this event.
Please e-mail Stan Kirk with the Band at skirk179@gmail.com to let him know the event(s) that you will be able to work. Also, you must take the online Alcohol Awareness Training 2009 in order to work these events (even if not serving alcohol). This training must be completed by all that will be working no later than one week before the event. Information regarding the training is shown below.
Alcohol Awareness Training 2009 (revised procedures 10/2009) This training will take approximately 20-30 minutes.

You may also be scheduled by your manager (on site) to attend the Live Responsible Alcohol Training Class.

PARTIES TO GO!
The Soccer generally company parties and picnics that require food serving, manning game booths, etc. Generally, each person makes $50 towards the player accounts depending on the length of the shift. More information will be posted soon!
